Bromley BR1

A vibrant town with rich heritage and modern amenities.

Bromley was chartered in 1158 as a market town in the county of Kent. Over the centuries, it grew rapidly, thanks to its location on a popular coaching route and the arrival of a railway station in 1858. Now in officially Greater London, the bustling town has much to offer people looking to buy property in Bromley.

The town has strong literary links, with its now-closed Royal Bell Hotel mentioned in Jane Austen’s book Pride and Prejudice and author of The Invisible Man and The War of the Worlds, H. G Wells being born there in 1866. It is also a great place for shopping, with a pedestrianised high street and large shopping centre, The Glades, offering a wide choice of retail outlets. Bromley Market also runs three times a week, maintaining welcome links with the town’s market heritage. The town is also very proud of its football team Bromley FC, now playing in the national football league.
